The guardian angel’s gift

In the dim light of the enchanted forest, where the trees seemed to whisper secrets and the air was thick with magic, Lisa found herself wandering deeper than she ever had before. She was drawn by a soft, ethereal glow that shimmered through the dense foliage. As she pushed past the last line of trees, she stepped into a small, moonlit clearing. At the centre of the clearing was a pond, its surface as smooth as glass, reflecting the moonlight in a way that made it look like liquid silver.

On the edge of the pond stood a woman, her back to Lisa. Her hair cascaded in dark waves down her back, almost blending into the night around her. She wore a simple white gown that seemed to flow like water, and as she slowly turned, Lisa felt her breath catch in her throat. The womanā€™s eyes were a deep, penetrating green, and her lips curled into a knowing smile as they locked gazes.

“Welcome, Lisa,” the woman said, her voice like the softest melody. “I’ve been expecting you.”

Lisaā€™s heart raced. She had never met this woman before, yet she felt an inexplicable pull towards her. “Who are you?” she asked, stepping closer.

“I am Marlina,” the woman replied, “the guardian angel of this forest. And you, my dear, have been chosen.”

“Chosen for what?” Lisa asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she felt the warmth of Marlina’s presence envelop her.

“To receive a gift,” Marlina said, her eyes sparkling with wisdom and kindness. She reached out and took Lisa’s hand, pulling her gently towards the water. “Come with me.”

Lisa followed, her mind buzzing with curiosity. As they reached the edge of the pond, Marlina paused and looked deeply into Lisa’s eyes. “Do you trust me?” she asked.

“Yes,” Lisa replied, surprising even herself with the certainty in her voice.

With a gentle tug, Marlina led Lisa into the water. The cool liquid sent shivers up her spine, but Marlina’s touch was warm and reassuring. As they moved deeper, the water began to glow around them, wrapping them in a cocoon of light.

Marlina placed her hands on Lisaā€™s shoulders, her touch grounding and soothing. “Lisa, you have wandered through life unsure of your worth, doubting your abilities. Tonight, I bestow upon you the gift of self-belief.”
