Your subconscious is listening to your words

Your words have the power to hurt, harm or heal. Some people think that the person on the receiving end of their words is the only one affected, however, the person speaking the words is affected more than anybody else because they’re listening to their thoughts and words twenty four hours a day, every day, while other people will only hear them for a few minutes at a time.

We’ll look at two scenarios.

We have John who has a particular negative attitude to life. Nothing is good enough, people are stupid, he spends all his time pointing out what’s wrong with the world. John also shares these opinions with anybody who’ll listen in real life. When john goes home he spends his time online trolling and commenting on any post that displeases him which happen to be nearly every one he takes the time to read.

On the other hand we have Jack who has the opposite attitude. Jack spends a lot of time in nature enjoying the miracle that is life, he breathes in the fresh air thinking how lucky he is to have his health and strength to enjoy the wonders all around him. He doesn’t judge anybody else’s intelligence because he understands how little he knows. Jack does spend some time online, it’s the nature of the world he lives in but when he’s online he doesn’t comment on things he disagrees with, he scrolls down until he find the things he likes and then presses the like button, or leaves a,”well said,” remark in the comment section.

The result of the different attitudes means a lot of people hear from John, while very few hear from Jack. The people who hear from John will either take umbrage or ignore John’s remarks, it really depends on whether he’s interacting with somebody like himself or somebody like John. The people who interact with John are the lucky ones because his remarks will always be positive.

In the moment, there will be no real harm, however, over time John’s mental health is bound to suffer from the internal conflict created by the constant negativity. His world will become darker and darker to the point where the light at the end of the tunnel has almost disappeared. Of course, the light will never completely disappear because it’s never too late to change your attitude.

Yes, your words have the power to hurt, harm or heal, just remember that when you’re sharing them, however, also remember, they will affect you more than anybody else. I’ll leave you with one final thought.

Please, use your words to heal.
