The world is full of people who belong to the human race, approximately seven billion, the majority of those people will have two eyes, two ears, a nose, chin, a torso, two arms, two legs, two feet, one neck and a brain which will be covered by skin and hair. These will vary in colour and size depending upon their cultural background. Roughly forty nine percent will identify themselves as female, another forty nine percent will identify themselves as male, the remaining two percent are in the process of defining who or what they are.
It’s human nature for the majority of people to find someone to share their life with, the initial attraction will be physical, however, if you’re to believe science, it’s actually based on aroma. Some people will be successful in this endeavour, some won’t.
The people who are successful in the relationship conundrum will have moved past the physical attraction and onto the most important part of any relationship, and that’s the emotional connection based on mutual respect and trust.
The people who fail in relationships will only focus on the physical aspects of their relationship. They don’t develop an emotional attachment so when physical aspects fail, there’s nothing to keep the relationship together.
Of course, it takes two people to make a successful relationship. If only one person is emotionally invested in the relationship, it will fail and one person will be deeply unhappy.
While love is an emotion, it’s not the emotional glue that holds things together, that glue is trust and respect. If you’re lucky enough to find someone with those qualities, hang onto them because you will surely regret losing them.
I’ll leave you with one final thought.
If you don’t trust and respect yourself, you will be incapable of trusting and respecting anybody else.
