A good cook will follow a recipe. A chef will play around with the ingredients of a recipe. A Michelin star chef doesn’t need a recipe because he/she understands the purpose behind using certain ingredients to create a perfectly balanced meal.
The same theory will apply to everything you want to achieve in life. Everybody is born with ability, it’s what they do with it that makes the difference.
Using cooking as an example. Everybody has the ability to be a good cook, however, very few people will be passionate enough to take the time to understand the qualities of raw ingredients to become a Michelin star chef.
I’ll leave you with one final sentence. Ability will only get you to the starting line, you need passion to win the race.
