Peace is a goal everybody should want to achieve

When you find peace everything makes sensePeace is a goal everybody should want to achieve and one day, you will find peace within you, that’s the day the whole world will finally make sense, this will happen for one reason and only one reason, you will stop trying to understand other people’s actions and words.

Once you accept other people’s actions and words, their behaviour will stop complicating your life. It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll like them any more than you do today, it just means their behaviour will not surprise or unsettle you.

The reason human behaviour is so difficult to understand is; human goals and the behaviour required to reach them are constantly changing.

Scientists have been studying human behaviour for years with limited success. The most successful theory is, survival of the fittest or as Darwin so eloquently put it, the theory of evolution, however, as we know; today’s fittest may be tomorrow’s weak link. A good example of this is, the biggest and best hunter in today’s society hasn’t got the same appeal as he had in our caveman days.

If scientists can’t determine what accurately drives behaviour, what chance do we have? This leaves us with two options, we can continue to complicated our lives by trying to understand why people do as they do, or we can concentrate on trying to understand ourselves where we have all the information we need to find peace? I think the answer is easy, but it’s a choice everybody will have to make for themselves.

I’ll leave you with one of my favourite quotes; “Other people do not have to change for us to experience peace of mind.” ~Gerald Jampolsky.
