Being sensitive to other people’s emotions is the beginning of a life-long battle of; “do I interact with them,” or “do I leave them alone.” The battle does get easier the older you get. I personally leave most of them alone as I have a good understanding of the meaning behind the following quotes;
- “I love mankind, it’s people I can’t stand.”~Charles M. Schulz.
- “I like your Christ, I don’t like your Christians.” ~Mahatma Ghandi.
- “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” ~Confucius.
I’ve spent a lot of time learning to be happy with my own company and thoughts with the occasional conversation with interesting people who have similar values; although in recent times I’ve tried to follow a different train of thought. The following quote sums it up nicely.
- “When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.” ~Donald Miller.
If magic existed outside of Disney movies I would have one wish and it’s not true love’s kiss to be bestowed upon everybody, it would be;
“I wish everybody in the world was happy with who they are, and what they looked like.”
