Love is the only emotion that imbues brilliant qualities onto another person which they may or may not have. It clouds the mind into believing they have everything you have been looking for all your life, and your life would be incomplete if they don’t love you back. Of course, this is not true as the divorce courts will testify; love only lasts until you notice the first thing you don’t like about your prospective partner. If it’s a minor flaw you will work around it; if it’s a major flaw it will be the beginning of the end, you may indeed end up disliking the ground they walk on.
Of course, real relationships are built on trust and respect, these qualities are enduring unlike love which is whimsical at best and downright confusing for most people; I’ve yet to see a description of love which adequately describes the emotional roller coaster love creates.
Yes, love is an emotional journey of discovery but it’s not about discovering what other people are like, it’s a journey you take within your own mind to discover one aspect of the real you.
