Smile at the insults you receive


“People who look for weaknesses in other people are showing you how weak they are.”

Everybody knows somebody like this, they pretend to be your friend but every so often they throw an insult your way and then say, “I’m only kidding or I didn’t mean it,” these type of friends are more to be pitied than despised because they have such a low self-esteem, the only way they can feel better about themselves is to insult you.

There are really only two ways to deal with these types of people.

one way is to completely cut them out of your life, which can be difficult because if they are part of your circle of friends, cutting them all out would make your life miserable.

Another way is to accept them for who they are and every time you hear something insulting coming from them, smile and say thank you for the compliment, they don’t have to hear you say anything, all they need to see is the smile because it’s the last thing they expect to see after their remark.

There is another way, and that is to trade insults with them, but this is not a good idea because, as Mark Twain once said. “Do not argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”

That’s why smiling at them is the best option. After a while, they may stop their insulting behaviour because if you smile at them every time, it will drive them crazy.

And for those who believe in karma, you don’t have to respond to those who attack, belittle, or insult you because they will get what’s coming to them in time.
