It’s a fact that your opinion of yourself is how you think everybody else sees you regardless of what they say to you. An example would be, if you were walking down the street and you made eye contact with a stranger, you may assume that they are judging you, if you are in high spirits you may think that they are admiring the clothes you are wearing, or they may be admiring your looks. The opposite is also true, if you are feeling a bit depressed, you may think that they are looking down on you, thinking you’re not good enough for them to acknowledge. The truth of the situation is they are probably not thinking about you at all, they will be about themselves.
Eleanor Roosevelt put it very eloquently with this quote, “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.”
The secret to living the life you want to lead is inside your head, your thoughts determine how you interpret the world around you. If you can think positively most of the time, you will have a positive life. In order to achieve this goal you have to cut the negative people and events out of your life and replace them with positive uplifting events.
I personally stopped watching the news because after the initial good evening, they spent up to an hour telling me why it was anything but a good evening, the idiom good news does not sell is true.
The people in your life are very important but if you have any friends where you always feel drained after every conversation, you really need to asses whether they belong in your life at all.
When you remove as much negativity from your life as possible, you will be find yourself surrounded by positive people and events, this will have a positive effect on you and how you think about yourself.
*Self belief leads to a positive mindset which leads to a positive life.
