Worrying about People and Events outside of your ability to Change is Pointless

Don’t worry, just act.

The sun will rise in the morning, and it will set again at dusk, these are events we are sure will happen and should it come to pass where they do not, your worrying days will be behind you forever.

These are the kind of events that are outside of our ability to change.  This is a very simple way of looking at life but I think it’s the only way. We may have some influence over people in close proximity to our lives but that’s really where our control ends. If we use the same thought process regarding everything in our life, we will then figure out what is worth putting thought and effort into changing and what is worth ignoring.

I have heard people are worrying about the upcoming budget, this to me is a prime example of things which are not worth worrying about, it is going to happen, we can be sure we will not like the changes the budget will make as they will be putting their hands on your money and saying that’s mine. Can we change this event from happening? The simple answer is NO. Should we worry about the budget? No, not until after the event and then we will have to deal with the consequences.

People fall into similar categories; we can influence them, and give them advice, but at the end of the day, most people will do as they see fit, and worrying about how they will behave will only put grey hairs on your head, and change nothing at all.

  • Worrying is an over-rated way of passing time, do what you can, when you can and never worry about what you cannot change.
