Some of the greatest story tellers I know are teenagers, but then words are cheap, as any mature person who remembers their teenage years can verify, when we were young, there was nothing that we didn’t know or couldn’t do, and we thought our parents didn’t know half as much as we knew. We informed them of all our great plans and dreams for the future, and our parents would tell us how great we were.
As the years pass, our life experiences change how we inform people of our achievements, we no longer tell people what we are going to accomplish, we are more inclined to achieve our goals and then inform the people we love of our accomplishments.
Today with the experience of a life-time, we listen to the words of today’s youth with a smile and the knowledge that they too will learn that telling people what you are going to do is the quickest way to swallow humble pie.
